Island is not far from the airport, the possibility of various water sports and day trips The best sites for diving with sharks and eagle rays at the nearby Kandoma Tila site. I have about 25 dives there. In the island is many dining options and many shops.

The trips on offer are spectacular. I would advise you understand the type of boat you are going on and check the weather. Salt Beach do fabulous trips and the guys on the boats are great.
We did have a trip with 'Maldivian Fellows' I was very disappointed with this one as they didn't have watchers looking at the people in the water and showed no encouragement to people that were a little nervous like 'Salt Beach' guys
We did the parasailing which was fabulous. We booked this with the guys next to the bikini beach and they were great.
Ive been to the island 5 times now and love its rustic charm although it is getting busier.
I can highly recommend the 'Juice Vibe' for the best coffee and juices. There are lots of restaurants to choose from, my favourites are 'Moonlight' which is situated at the opposite end to bikini beach and the Indian restaurant next to the Kanni hotel. Some of the washroom facilities are not so clean so always carry tissues with you.

People of Maafushi treat you based on the following: if you are white-skinned and living in a resort, you get the best treatments. After that, white-skinned, then brown-skinned in the resort, and the rest are treated like they don't belong in their precious land. Their definition of hospitality means you are meant to agree and not counter when they suggest something. If you have a different opinion, you are rude and disrespectful. The nature is unparalleled, but the locals have a long way to go to learn hospitality.

It is a very beautiful small island with very warm and hospitable people. With azure water and golden beaches. Prices are very affordable, there are several good restaurants.
It was impossible to swim because there are many reefs in the water inside and we caught our feet many times, which is why we could not go into deep water, and near the shore there is waist-deep water. No one has informed us about this. The hotel must inform the guests about such details in advance.
It would be good if there would be a bridge for those who want to swim in deep water, which would give them the opportunity to go directly into deep water.

Public island - so no alcohol/ all inclusive plush.
Public island - so no alcohol/ all inclusive plush. The island is small, had good snorkeling, small shops, restaurants and bikini beach! Everyone is friendly and want to make sure you have a good time. Many options to rent water crafts, fun water sport items. Many excursions that give you exactly as they are advertise. A short trip by boat from Male makes it convienent - not have to spend all day getting to your hotel.

Maafushi is currently a construction site.
Maafushi is currently a construction site. There is building work everywhere on the island which is only 1km x 300m. It is not a paradise island at the moment.
There are lots of restaurant options but it is not cheap if you choose a venue that doesn't include the service charge and government tax in the meal price.
I would avoid Maafushi until its been re-built.
The staff were very nice and cordial. The lady at the reception, Maadi (I hope I got the spelling right) welcomed us at the Port and brought us to the hotel when we arrived in the evening; helped with booking the selected water sports activities and excursions. The rooms were just perfect and very clean as well. Internet connection was very strong. I liked that it was in the more quiet place of the Island, yet easily accessible to everywhere. I stayed in a city view room, but could also see the ocean partially.
We booked this hotel for 4 nights and then extended for another 3 nights as it is the best option in Maafushi!
Arora View is new hotel and located away from the bustle and construction sites, which does not interfere with your relaxation. The rooms are clean and spacious with large balconies. Excellent breakfasts. There is also free afternoon tea. Really kind and great personal! Special thanks to Tulsi, who helped us a lot and was so kind and amazing!
If your looking to go to the Maldives and not to stay at one resort that's really expensive I'd recommend here in Maafushi as there is a good variety of things you can do here from resort day trips to excursions. The hotel itself is in a great location if you pick a sea room view. We only had breakfast in the mornings here did the job for us. But I'd recommend not eating dinner here and try what the island has to offer!
Maafushi is a beautiful island and Triton hotel is great too. The pool and view from is lush, short walk to all the beaches and restaurants. breakfast you can get fresh omelettes which was good enough for me (other options too). and the room service food is really reasonable and also yummy. clean and tidy room, good aircon, peaceful. Good priced transfer to and from Male, ran on time. We loved it in maafushi.
A great little hotel. Very friendly staff. Good size rooms well maintained. Local and international options for breakfast. A deserved 10 rating beacause this hotel was accommodating and offered a free extra bed for our daughter when our previous hotel on Maafushi wanted 15USD per night. They were also extremely flexible with our checkout time as our transfer was late in the day. Thank you Velana!
Couple who runs the hotel is very supportive and tries to grab best value pack for other activities on maafushi and nearby islands. They even provided life jackets and snorkeling set for free use. We enjoyed scuba, parasailing, kayaking, snorkeling, jet skiing, at their care off!! There is also small fridge inside room, so you can keep all your eateries bought from hotel or supermarket
The staff were the best part of the hotel. The island is very small so all hotels are close to beaches and restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff made this modest reasonably prices hotel into a top stay. I would normally mention individual staff but it's impossible since every single member of the hotels team were phenomenal.
Stayed in Maafushi for the New Year with the family. We stayed at Rehendhi Villa Hotel. The place is very clean and good place for a short stay. The meals were very good. And the staffs were really helpful. Attended our needs with utmost urgency. We enjoyed our stay there. The place is recommended for budget travelers.
Just exceeded our expectation... Very beautiful Island with lot of sporting activities... provided free snorkeling kits and life jackets... special mention to Mr. Hassan who was very friendly.. highly recommended for families... very close to the beach... its a great budgetary hotel if your planning for long stays...
Our 1st stay in Maldives took a jetty from Airport to Maafushi. There was hotel Manager and an attendant waiting for us to receive. It's 5 min walk to the hotel. Our room was clean and huge. Best was the sea view balcony where sunrise was very clearly visible. Amazing view the next morning
The hotel's location was an excellent example overlooking the sea and several islands around Mafushi. The staff of the hotel are very welcoming and always ready to assist. Our special thanks to Themiya, Mark, Metri, Rifa, Mark, Ruwan and Sohail for their outstanding customer service.
Very good staff and people around best place to visit Maldives we have been to other places but this was the best some small things can be improved for example food can be warmer etc but overall wonderful experience. I would recommend only to visit Maafushi Island specially triton
A stylish medium size hotel with a beautiful garden outlook - very peaceful and excellent and friendly staff. I was visiting Maafushi for work and the hotel was a perfect location - close to ferry and away from the high rises that dominate the bikini beach end of the island.
Very clean, welcoming, great staff and very good service. The everyday tours was awesome, the staff make it the most perfect way . The guide Ibrahim Fazeel was the best, professional and took amazing pictures. I definitely recommend this hotel and the tours, good prices.
Good price/quality for this guesthouse, especially if you want to visit the Maldives on a budget! The room was comfortable and clean with everything we needed, there was a hot water shower and fast Wifi. Since Maafushi is a small island, any location is good here.
The place is super comfortable and at a middle of the island. The staff is super helpful. Heartfully thanking mr kalam for going out of the way to help us from trouble. Even the prices for water activities and other stuff is very affordable.
Amazing hotel, the staff smiling all the time, very good breakfast, location of the hotel its in the bikini beach and easy to reach everywhere in the island, DEFINITELY ill be back at the same island, same hotel 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
All the sea trips in maafushi island were much cheaper than any other resort so my recommendation is to stay there for 3 days to finish the trips then move for a couple of days in a nice resort
Amazing hotel directly at bikini beach in Maafushi! Rooms are very nice, clean and the AC is great. The stuff is super helpful - they helped us even before arriving. Breakfast is good!
